CTCC Round3: BAIC and Chang’an Ford became biggest winners

Round 3 of SINOPEC LUBRICANTS CTCC 2015 season ended on June 21 at Tianma circuit, which bases in Shanghai. In China Production Group, GTMC Toyota driver Yu XIA scored his first win of 2015 in race 1, BAIC SENOVO’s Hu An ZHU and Ruo Han HUANG clinched second and third place respectively. Podium finishes of race 2 were shared by GRT’s Yang LIU, CUS racing’s Wan Cheng ZHENG and Beijing Hyundai’s Yue CUI. Chang’an Ford driver Andy YAN won Super Production Group, Dongfeng Yueda KIA’s Zhi Qiang ZHANG got second place, third place went to Xiao Le HE, also from Chang’an Ford. Zhen Dong ZHANG, Rui WANG, Teng Yi JIANG completed podium places for Shanghai Volkswagen 333once again.

China Production Group: Yu XIA and Yang LIU shared two races

Tianma Circuit’ is a very short circuit with 2km long, when 30 cars of China Production Group race on track, a furious fight can’t be avoid. In qualifying session, over 10 cars set their best lap times within s single second.

Being the most splendid class of CTCC, China Production Group didn’t make the spectaculars disappointed. Yu XIA and Yang LIU crowned two races after hard fights. After this round, BAIC extend their lead on manufacture championship.

For the club teams, GRT extend lead as well after Yang LIU’s win. After joined this team, former champion Yang LIU helped the newly established GRT a lot.

Super Production Group: Andy YAN leads Chang’an Ford come back

After Super Production Group, we got an incredible result. Chang’an Ford gathered their first win of 2015 in Tianma, a circuit Chang’an Ford always perform well. In addition to the precious win, they got third and fourth place as well. These ensured them jump into lead of manufacture championship, Andy YAN also lead driver championship with an eight-point advantage.

Dongfeng Honda sustained largest set back of this season. Martin XIE was forced to retired by a mechanical problem. Henry HO stalled on start line, and then retired after rival’s shunt when the race about to finish. They lost the lead on championship standing after a less successful race. Dongfeng Yueda KIAs have showed strong pace in qualifying, but 3 of 4 cars hit by puncture, only got a second place by Zhi Qiang ZHANG. Newly returned Shicuiying Galaxy racing fight hard with Haima M6 racing during the race, Andy ZHENG finished with fifth place for Haima.

Super 2.0T Group: Shanghai Volkswagen 333 dominated again

Super 2.0T Group raced last on Sunday, weather became rainy after the start of race. Teamwork Motorsport driver Samuel Hsieh lost pole position after procedure false and soon hit by mechanical failure. His teammate got fourth place after has defended Rui WANG for over ten laps. Without the threat from Teamwork Motorsport, Shanghai Volkswagen 333 racing stormed in Super 2.0T Group again, Zhen Dong ZHANG scored his second class win consecutively.

Gift money shined again

Just like the circuit, grandstand of Tianma isn’t very large, but it didn’t hurt enthusiasm of fans and they filled up the grandstand during whole weekend. Haima M6’s promoter and China Grand Voice singer Feng YU has been to Tianma Circuit as well.

The well known websites, such as Tencent, LETV, PPTV, iQIYI all boardcasted the Third round CTCC in Sheshan. CTCC also raised a huge number of containing money as a gift, which will be provide on the official WeChat platform of CTCC. This method earned more than 5000 fans of CTCC official account. And there will be more containing money on the second round of CTCC.

After Sheshan round, CTCC will travel to Korea International Circuit on July 19.
