Dec 5th, 2010, the grand finale of CTCC was successfully concluded at Guangdong International Circuit (GIC).
The ever hot activities both on and off the track contributed to another brilliant racing event to the fans. Head of Motorsport administration center in General Administration of Sport of China, vice-president of FIA, Mr. Yan Jian Chang, Deputy secretary and Mayer of Zhao Qing attended the opening ceremony.
In the end, Wan Jin Cun from Beijing Hyundai and Michael Ho from Hua Yang racing team won 1600cc & 2000cc, respectively. The season title owner went to Michael Ho, thanks to his outstanding performance at GIC, and Liu Yang (Beijing Hyundai).
Muddled start for 1600cc resulted in Beijing Hyundai’s grand win
The last race of 2010 CTCC enjoyed a rather fine weather. The 1600cc saw a muddled start as pole-sitter Wang Rui (SVW 333) and Huang Chu Han (Haima racing team) had a serious contact at Turn 1 and both retired. Sun Chao and Liu Yi were also affected by this accident and ran into gravel. Just in 1 lap’s time, 7 cars had their 1600cc final show ended ahead of time.
Han Han (SVW 333), a strong competitor for season title, retired at second last lap. In the end, Wan Jin Cun won with his teammate Liu Yang 4th (season winner), contributing to a double win for Beijing Hyundai.
Grate performance from Hua Yang racing team
The finale for 2000cc class featured the very remarkable Hua Yang racing team, Michael Ho took home not only the winner trophy for race 8, but also the season winner.
The 2000cc race also saw many accidents: Huan Carlos Zhu, who replaced Martin Cao in Changan Ford racing team, retired from the race. As for the other 2 drivers on the team, Rainey He and Andy Yan also failed to finish the race. Jiang Teng Yi was the only one who made it to the finishing line and he was 6th.
Lo Ka Chun (KIA 778 racing team), another strong player for the title, finished the race 3rd yet still not good enough to take the title from Ho.
Attractive commercial area
Other than the hot actions on track, the commercial area also started a good show. After 6 events of hot competition, the Lady Voo featured Yi Lone sent by Changan Ford Racing team the queen of the season.
Thanks to all the manufactures & partners like Red Bull, Yokohama, Green Lake thermal spring etc, the season was proved to be a brilliant one.
