The second round of the 2012 China Touring Car Championship will be held this weekend at the Zhuhai International Circuit. The first of the racing circuits in mainland China built to Formula 1 standards.
The Super Production class was dominated by Chang'an Ford FRD team at the first round at Guangdong, which means they have to carry the heaviest weight penalty for their Ford Focuses this weekend.
The other two factory teams, Shanghai VW 333 Racing Team and Kia 778 Autosport are preparing for a serious fight back after more than a month?s break between the first two rounds. Lo Ka Chun, runner up in the Super Production naturally-aspired class during last year, will return to Kia 778 Autosport after missing Round 1.
G Racing, the privateer team running the Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T, finished fifth and seventh in Round 1, and could be a dark hors this weekend against the factory teams. They also have to face the challenge from other privateers like GDTV TSB Racing and ASR de Marco. Summit - S Wave Racing will continue to run a leased Peugeot 307 in the forthcoming round.
The qualifying will be held around 15:50 (local time) on 2nd June.
