Andy Yan of Chang’an Ford Racing Team, pole sitter of 2013 CTCC Round 4 in Ordos International Circuit on June 7th, made another CTCC record of winning three consecutive races. His teammate Tengyi Jiang came home second.
The race began at 14:20 with light rain and strong wind. The rain eventually stopped just before the start after a 10 minutes delay. Both Andy Yan and Tengyi Jiang made good start and never look back. They crossed the finished line one-two, gained another valuable 27 points for the team and extended the manufacturer title lead to 25 points over the second place Team VW.
Rainey He, who started on fourth position, lost pace midway through the race and could only manage to finish 6th.
Andy Yan indicated in the press conference ”I’m pleased with my performance and I’d like to thank my team for giving me such a competitive car. Also I want to thank my teammate Tengyi Jiang for protecting me all the time so that I could drive with minimum pressure in front.”
John Ling, the team manager also expressed his satisfaction to the result for gaining another 27 points, “But I think the cars will start to suffer more now that we have to carry another 30kg for the rest of the season. We ran at 1280kg almost the whole season in 2012 so we do have the experience how to counter this.”
CTCC will start taking the summer holiday and R5 of the season will go back to city of Chengdu in the beautiful province of Sichuan on August 25th.
