On June 5, 2016 SINOPEC Lubricants CTCC Opener will be continued at Zhuhai International Circuit. Three groups of CTCC ushered the final race on this day. On the very morning, Teamwork`s Xu Jiatai, Dongfeng Honda He Weiquan and Feixun racer Wan Jincun won the champions of the first round of Super 2.0T Trophy, Super 1.6t Trophy and China Trophy respectively; in the second round, SAIC Volkswagen racer  Jiang Tengyi, Dongfeng Honda Xie Xinzhe and Beijing Hyundai rider Yang Xi won the champions of three trophies.

Enigmatic Weather, Unfathomable T11 "Death Turn"

It is common sense to almost all racers that the weather of Zhuhai is unpredictable; the recent CTCC in Zhuhai has witnessed the severe test of the weather most of the time. So is the Zhuhai station in the competition season in 2016. The team of Super 2.0T Trophy tried all means on the tire issues. In addition to using two conventional programs including rain tires and dry tires when taking risks for stability sake, there are even racers mounted with the mixture of dry tires and rain tires. Facts have proved that dry tires are the right choice. The winners of Xu Jiatai, Dan Wells and Julio O. Acosta are all benefited from the dry tire strategy. However, what was unexpected to everyone was: when it’s at half of the second round in the afternoon, parts of the tracks were suddenly wetted by the heavy rain. Therefore, up to six racers rushed out off the track at Turn 11 and got stuck in the sand, including the famous Macau driver Avila who ranked second at that moment; and in the subsequent Super 1.6T Trophy and the China Trophy, two Dongfeng Honda racers and Xia Yu from Feixun Racing Team also rushed out off the track unfortunately. That is, a total of nine drivers were trapped at Zhuhai No. 11 Turn within one day!

Despite that humans are tiny in front of nature; they are not helpless at all. Take the Jiekai Racer Team for example, they installed a small atmospherium in the race of this station, which contributed to their strategy success in the first round; and in the second round, the final winner Jiang Tengyi considered of the various development directions at the instant of rain, including showing the red flag or driving the safety car, so he made the decision of conservative driving and the attempt to stay on the track, which was unimaginable for those unprepared and inexperienced racing drivers. It can be seen that it is not only the racer of the motorsport race, but from the very moment when you step into the circuit, even the tiny things could become your enemy, which should be treated seriously.

Xu Jiatai beat the external aided racer drivers, champions of CTCC Attractive Formula racers all showed up

After the arrival at Zhuhai Station, CTCC Super 2.0T Trophy group ushered more external aided drivers. However, in the final battel of Super 2.0T Trophy, despite faced with the besieging of two foreign drivers Dan Wells and Julio, Xu Jiatai from Jiekai Team was still calm, he beat the two foreign champions and rules the roost in the first round of the race.

Among the race drivers of the current campaign CTCC, six of whom won the Asian Fomula championship. They are Cao Hongwei and Dan Wells from Changan Ford Racing Team, Avila from SAIC Volkswagen Team 333, Zhan Jiatu and Zhang Zhiqiang from Dongfeng KIA Team and Julio Acosta from Linky Racing. In fact, it is not uncommon, and many CTCC champion had achieved sound performances in Formula races. However, in order to become a professional racer driver with commercial value, they have been attracted to CTCC – the highest tournament platform in China. After all, the competition with real high level should achieve a high degree of professionalism and commercialization, and should be closely linked to the automobile industry, which is the core attraction of the CTCC to China and the Asia-Pacific drivers!

Both Wells and Acosta have expressed their appreciation for the CTCC when they came to the podium. They said they enjoyed the stimulating and exciting game, and they also looking forward to the perfect CTCC event organization and commercialization, with the hope to continue to participate in CTCC in the future. The traditional touring car driver represented by He Xiaole was also glad to welcome the arrival of a new situation, believing that the participation of young Formula One drivers can bring the speed and impact to the game, so that the traditional touring car drivers can feel different driving and approach to the problems; whereas the rich experience of touring car drivers can help young drivers understand the touring car which is completely different with the formula, and ultimately achieve the purpose of common progress.

 

Driver Xie Xinzhe from Dongfeng Honda showed the vitality in game, four consecutive champions from KIA

 

Faced with the high-speed track which is skilled, Dongfeng Honda Team finally felt proud and elated, He Weiquan and Xie Xinzhe led the champions in the game of two rounds respectively, becoming the only team which won the championship of two rounds this weekend. However, the true story is more difficult to see what was seen by people: firstly, the race driven by He Weiquan had the steering problems, but the team could ease the problem by adopting the ingenious match of new front tire + old rear tire. Subsequently, the team also repaired the seriously damaged racer of Xie Xinzhe within a short period of time, so as ensure the championship in the second round.

On the other hand, although failed to win the championship of racer driver, Team KIA won two consecutive rounds of manufacturer championship with the better overall performance, and maintained the leading position in the score ranking. What is worthy of recognition is: Chen Xu from Hainan Mazda M6 team won the fourth place in the first round, with only a minor step from climbing to the podium, which was the best record they achieved since they upgraded to Super 1.6T Trophy group.

 

Interests and morality in the heavy rain, gentlemen from China Trophy

The China Trophy of Zhuhai Station belongs to Beijing Hyundai Invincible Team. They achieved the top three in the second round of the game; it belongs more to the driver Yang Xi, which is not only because he achieved the good performance of one first place and one second place in the game of two rounds, but also because he himself completed two rounds of impressive games for us.

After the start of the race, Yang Xi had a very beautiful kick-off, and had overtaken Feixun Racer Driver Xia Yu. They had the close competition for several laps afterwards. During that period, Yang Xi and Xia Yu and repeatedly changed their positions, and it was so intense that all the persons present were quite nervous. But they never collided and told us with their excellent performance that the completion does not have to be bloody, and it is wiser to compete with the internal forces.

If we say that the first round showed their superior technique, then the second round is the embodiment of character. In this round, Yang Xi and Xia Yu competed again and fought for the leading position. At Turn 12, Xia Yu had a too optimistic judgment on the brake point and was unable to sufficiently slow down. At this point, he could hit Yang Xi in front of him and cut off one potential rival. However, he did not do so, but chose the parapet wall, and finally quitted from the game in the buffer, and watched Yang Xi won the first personal championship of CTCC.

In the press conference, Yang Xi spoke highly of Xia Yu, and believed he is a deserved champion racer driver whether from the clean attack and defense in the first round or the "grace not to kill" in the second round. The champion racer driver requires not only the excellent driving skills, but also the noble character and sportsmanship. It is hoped in the future game, we can see more of such high-quality competition.

 

SUPERRACE Long-distance Racing, He Xixi achieved POLO Trophy

The South Korea SUPERRACE Championship witnessed the completion of the final race as long as 22 laps at Sunday noon. Eventually, the local rookie Jin Dongen ushered two consecutive championships in the racing seasons, with Yuji Ide won the second, and Zheng Yizhe the third.

POLO Trophy has also seen its completion of the second round at Zhuhai Station, which was held on the track after the rain with the length up to nine laps. He Xixi, who was in the third place from Linky Racing the day before, rushed to the forefront in the second round finally and defeated Drivers Li Huiwei and Chen Yilin from the racer team of “Glad to Meet You”.

After the Zhuhai Station, 2016 SINOPEC Lubricants CTCC will move to Shanghai International Circuit on June 19.
