CTCC’s first action in Qingyan, Guiyang ended successfully, ending round is about to set off

SINOPEC lubricant Chinese Touring Car Championship ended its seventh round of 2016 season on 30th, Oct at Guizhou Junchi international circuit, which located in Qingyan, Guiyang.

BAIC Senova’s Robert HUFF, Chang’an Ford’s Andy YAN and wild-card-entry driver Alex FONTANA shared top 3 positions in race 1 of Super Trophy 2.0T group. In the meantime, race 2 belongs to BAIC Senova as ZHU Daiwei, ZHU Huan and Robert HUFF collected all podium finishes.

Within the Super Trophy 1.6T group, Dongfeng Yueda KIA’s LIN Lifeng won first race, followed by Dongfeng Honda duo XIE Xinzhe and ZOU Sirui and the form conversed as ZOU Sirui crossed the line first and chased by JIM Ka To and YUAN Bo, both from Dongfeng Yueda KIA.

Team Phicomm’s XIA Yu, GAC Toyota’s LIU Yifeng and Beijing Hyundai’s SUN Chao nailed podium places in sequence in the opening race of China Trophy. Afterwards, Beijing Ruisi Racing Team’s DENG Xiaowen clinched his maiden win in second race as the podium rounded out by Phicomm’s XIA Yu and ZHU Zhenyu.

 

Guizhou Junchi made a history as a result of pioneering spirit

As an advanced battlefield always attracts automobile manufacturers, sponsors and front edge medias which produced and broadcasted by CCTV, CTCC won considerable reputation over the world especially thanks to the Super Trophy groups who delivered huge popularity. This time, SINOPEC lubricant CTCC achieved another significant progress by landing at Guizhou Junchi international circuit. A legion of leaders including ZHAN Guojun, the chief officer of both Federation of automobile and motorcycle sports of people’ s republic of china(CAMF) and General Administration of Sport’s automobile and motorcycle sports center, QIN Zhihao, the inspector of Guizhou sports bureau and the vice-president of CAMF, WANG Yuxiang, vice-mayor of Guiyang city, WU Rong, chief of Guizhou mountain sport center and vice-president of Guizhou  Federation of automobile and motorcycle sports, TIAN Maoshu, the chief of Guiyang sports bureau and MEI Jun, the mayor of Huaxi district all attended the opening ceremony of CTCC.   

Being a brand new racing circuit that in responsible for CTCC, Junchi international circuit is widely hailed by drivers including world champion Robert HUFF, for both layout and infrastructure. In recent years, CTCC has been to a series of new circuits including overseas circuit such as Korean international circuit, CAMF circuit which is close to capital city Beijing and Jiangsu Wantrack international circuit based in Changjiang delta where economy is developed. After holding CTCC event, Guizhou owns circuit racing, rally racing and off-road racing, all correspond to national criteria and actually became a motorsport-developed province. Meanwhile, CTCC is also promoting motorsport industry seriously by spreading its map to all over the country.    

BAIC Senova’s first ever grand slam

BAIC Senova got delightful results in both races of Super Trophy 2.0T group. In the opening one, Robert HUFF achieved a pretty Pole to Win. Then, ZHU Daiwei, ZHU Huan and Robert HUFF collected a 1-2-3 finish in the second race, the first ever since BAIC Senova team was established. Also ZHU Daiwei, who in charge of the team thinks the success came so soon considering their learning curve this year. In the opening round, there was only one car available with multiple problems. But the real progress was made in last round in Shanghai, where ZHU Huan grabbed the pole and they won their first manufacturer victory.

Andy YAN’s excellent performance in race 1 helped to cut his gap between ZHANG Zhendong who still leads driver standing to only 1 point. At the same time, Chang’an Ford extended leading advantage further to SAIC Volkswagen. But HAIMA M6 racing, which graduated to 2.0T group since Guangdong Zhaoqing round, failed to stretch their competitiveness in Guiyang. After Guiyang Qingyan round, there are only two races left.

LIN Lifeng gained first win of season as head to head continues

Super Trophy 1.6T group was still the direct battle between Dongfeng Yueda KIA and Dongfeng Honda. Pole-sitter LIN Lifeng led the first race from the start to the end without any challenge. But Dongfeng Yueda KIA only gained 1 point from rival despite won the manufacturer victory.

The was a big moment as ZHANG Zhiqiang hit by mechanical failure in race 2 and gained nothing. As a result, XIE Xinzhe is currently leading ZHANG Zhiqing by enormous 32 points and almost seized the driver champion already. Charged ZOU Sirui maintained his situation from last round and controlled the second race which insured Dongfeng Honda’s manufacturer honor in spite of JIM Ka To and YUAN Bo got second and third respectively. After the ups and downs, there is only a narrow gap between the two bigs and the ending round is decided to be crucial.

Beijing Hyundai overcame setbacks, DENG Xiaowen scored maiden win

China Trophy remained exciting this time. Although seriously hurt by a massive penalty before the races, Beijing Hyundai gained some advantages by eliminating some compensation weights and delivered strong performance in both races. Consequently, the shootout between Beijing Hyundai and GAC Toyota will be brought into ending races in Sheshan, Shanghai as none of them is determined to beat the other.

In the latter race, DENG Xiaowen made a history by scoring both his and Beijing Ruisi Racing Team’s maiden win in CTCC. Look back to the club team’s standing, Team Phicomm is still leading as XIA Yu won the first race and both XIA Yu and ZHU Zhenyu managed to finish within top 3 in second race.

 

Historical first visit to Guizhou for POLO Cup

POLO Cup, the long-term support event of CTCC flied to Guizhou with CTCC again. SUN Anning and LI Huiwei shared two race wins, both happened on Sunday. After that 2016 POLO Cup season came to an end as driver champion went to LI Huiwei.

So far, the seventh round of SINOPEC lubricant Chinese Touring Car Championship in Qingyan, Guiyang came to a successful end. Only one week later, the championship will move to Shanghai Tianma circuit, where the last and probably the most energetic fight will take place.
