China event Competition Committee of 2011 World Touring Car Championship held a news conference in Shanghai Songjiang on October 18, 2011 to announce 2011 World Touring Car Championship 11th round will be held in Shanghai Songjiang Tianma Circuit. The Vice Chairman of Federation of Automobile Sports of the people’s republic of China Mr. Wan Heping, the deputy director of Shanghai Sports Bureau Mr. Chen Yiping, the CTCC chief operating officer Xia Qing and other leaders attended the press conference.

The deputy director Chen Yiping reviewed the fine tradition of motor sport held in Shanghai at the press conference, affirmed the important meaning of WTCC held in Shanghai, and introduced the calendar of WTCC event of china to the media and fans. He voiced that WTCC competition has a huge influence and radiation effects in Shanghai, which has a positive sense in enhancing the image of Shanghai and promoting the building of Shanghai into a modern international metropolis.

Xian Tongchun, an official of Federation of Automobile Sports of the people’s republic of China, summarized the meaning of the joint event from the perspective of automobile sports management. WTCC and CTCC will play together at all levels to promote each other＇s progress, which has a profound impact on the development of domestic and world automobile sports.
