After taking the pole on Saturday, Jiang Tengyi led the Ford charge Sunday afternoon with the super typhoon Usagi threatening to provide some weather uncertainties to the race. Together with his teammates, Andy Yan and Rainey He, they completed a clean sweep of the podium positions after the 21 lap race is finished.
All Ford drivers had good start and moved into offensive positions immediately. On lap two, Ford driver Martin Xie collided with Kenneth Look and retired leaving his team mates on position 1,3 and 4 with Han Han's VW Polo sitting on position 2. By lap 5, Jiang Tengyi already pulled out a 5 seconds lead then maintaining his pace for the rest of the race. The drama started on lap 15 when VW car 5 Wang Rui started to slow down due to mechanical issue. Then with only one lap to go, Han Han's VW also slowed down due to fuel problem allowing Andy and Rainey to take over the second and third positions.
With this amazing result, the Changan Ford Racing Team regains the 25 points lead with two races to go. Andy Yan also leads the Driver's title with 60 points, 15 ahead of Jiang Tengyi and 16 ahead of Wang Rui.
CTCC R7 will be held on October 13 Zhuahi International Circuit.
