Recently, 2013 WTCC World Touring Car Championship China Station cum CTCC China Touring Car Championship Finals news conference formally convened, the race will be held November 2-3 at the Shanghai International Circuit. This coming weekend, fans will once again have a "motorsport holiday".

WTCC and F1 are both tied for FIA as world’s largest world-class motorsport racing event. Different with F1, the events are linked closely with the automotive industry. WTCC promoter Marcello Lotti concluded: “The Chinese event is one of the most important in the WTCC season, because it opens a window on one of the fastest growing economies in the world for our manufacturers and partners. Having a joint event with CTCC is the best way to promote both championships with the motorsport community.”
Meanwhile, Wan Heping, deputy president of FASC, China’s National Sporting Authority pointed out that:”FASC is proud to welcome WTCC for the third time. This joint WTCC-CTCC event has become one of the most popular motorsport race meetings in China over the past two years. And the cooperation between these two professional championships is acting as a driving force to attract car makers and sponsors to join touring car racing.”

After the press conference,at the Bund, one of Shanghai’s historical areas, on the waterfront of the Huangpu river, WTCC and CTCC drivers mingled together after today’s press conference in Shanghai to have a try at T’ai Chi ch’uan, China’s traditional martial art.
