2017 Sinopec China Touring Car Championship had its 7th round in Wuhan on Nov 12th. This is the first time that Wuhan holds a street race, with a 2.4KM track including 8 left turns and 6 right turns.

SAIC Volkswagen 333 Racing and FAW Totoya Vios FS Racing won the Manufacure’s Champion in the first race on Saturday and topped podiums in the second race on Sunday. In the Super Cup, SAIC Volkswagen 333 Racing’s Zhang Zhendong finished the 1st, while his teammate Robert Huff finished the 2nd and BAIC Shenbao Racing’s Darryl O’Young finished the 3rd. In the China Cup, FAW Totoya Vios FS Racing dominated the podium with the lineups of Sun Chao, Fan Gaoxiang and Xia Yu.

Super Cup: Robert Huff Has Chances to Win the Champion

SAIC Volkswagen 333 Racing’s Robert Huff has helped the team top the championship with three constant victories in the three rounds he participated this year. When he was asked if he would join the next race weekend to keep fighting for the champion, he replied, “It is a big surprise for all of us, including me. The priority is to win the Manufacture’s Champion.” Huff’s teammate, 2016 Super Cup’s Champion Zhang Zhendong is also competitive in the champion’s battle.

Dongfeng Yueda Kia Racing’s Xie Xinzhe, two-year champion of CTCC, was not lucky enough in the home race, but he was able to finish the 6th after starting from the back grid. BAIC Shenbao Racing’s Darryl O’Young now sits on the 3rd in the championship. With Andy Yan and He Xiaole’s effort, Changan Ford Racing Team is on the 2nd in the championship.

Changan Ford Racing Team, BAIC Shenbao Racing and Haima Qiangdongli Racing will try their best in the last race to be held in two weeks in Shanghai.

China Cup: Championship Got a New Leader

With a 23-cars entry in China Cup, the fans enjoyed a thrilling street race weekend. Before this weekend, it was GAC-Toyota Team leading the championship, but with the two Manufacture’s Champions in Wuhan, FAW Totoya Vios FS Racing took the lead instead, with a gap over 30 points. FAW Totoya Vios FS Racing’s Xia Yu said, “The rivals are very strong on both the strength and experience. Our team will gear up for the final race with full attention. ”

Yang driver Deng Xiaowen finished 4th, which is the best result for himself in the season. EYEE Fengchao Racing’s Zhu Zhenyu finished the 5th.

In the supporting race Touring Car Masters Challenge, Lu Junjie/Zheng Wancheng finished the 1st in the one-hour race, while Wu Yifu/Zhao Shaodan and Huang Jianchen/Wu Yifan clinched the 2nd and the 3rd respectively. In the 13-laps race, Zheng Wancheng finished the race with another victory, while Li Lin finished the 2nd and Chang Jiong finished the 3rd.

The final round of 2017 Sinopec China Touring Car Championship is scheduled on November 26th in Shanghai International Circuit.
