After one weeks’ truce, 2013 CTCC is heading to Shanghai International Circuit for R2 on May 26th. Chang’an Ford Racing Team has already moved into their Shanghai base located inside the circuit to prepare for the race.
With the three days transportation time from Zhuhai to Shanghai, time is extremely tight for the Team to repair the four New Focus which were damaged during the wet race in Zhuhai. But the team is confident to get this done and improve the cars further using the data collected in Zhuhai.
Rainey He, who got on the podium despite the chaotic race, said,” It rained heavily and I also had a big crash. I saw the car and it has already been fixed so I have to thank the team for the hard work. Our car fits the Shanghai F1 circuit and I am confident that we can do better this weekend.”
John Ling, the team manager, indicated, “The R1 qualifying lap time proved that the New Focus has good speed. But due to the 2013 regulation has been changed back and forth so many times, we have to revise our parts again and again. It obviously increases our workload and my main concern is the reliability of the new parts. One of my goals is to try our best to ensure the excellent stability and reliability of the New Focus.
