After a rain-hit and shortened Round 1 at Zhuhai, many teams in the Super Production class have stated that they were not fully prepared before the first round begun, expecting to put on a better performance this weekend.
The CTCC Committee will also introduce an official air-restrictor (33mm) to balance their performance of the cars from this weekend.
Shanghai VW 333 Racing Team, which won Round 1 with driver Wang Rue, have now upgraded all of their VW Polo GTI to 2013 specifications, as Zhang Zhen Dong and Gao Hua Yang competed with the 2012 spec Polo GTI during this season opener.
Chang’an Ford FRD Team are also targeting a strong fight back this weekend after a disastrous first race at Zhuhai in which only Rainey He finished the race and in second place. The Ford team had a glorious record at the Shanghai International Circuit during the 2012 season, dominating the race and filling the top four positions.
Kia Racing will prepare all of their Kia K2 1.6Ts for the forthcoming race, just running two cars for Guo Hua Sheng and Lin Le Feng at the first round, in which the latter finished third.
Dong Feng Honda Racing Team will return to the grid with Li Zhi Cong driving their Honda Spirior 2.0
G Racing, the privateer team running a pair of Chevrolet Cruze 1.6Ts, will continue in the second round after finishing fourth and sixth at Zhuhai, and could be a dark horse this weekend against the factory teams.
Of course they have to face the challenge from ASR da Marco, which enters Zhang Sheng Jun, also in a Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T and potentially an as-yet unnamed driver in a Fiat Viaggio.
The qualifying will be held at 16:30 (local time) on 25th May.
