In the fourth round of China Touring Car Championship held during China Shaoxing Keqiao Automobile Culture Festival in Zhejiang International Circuit on July 7, SAIC Volkswagen 333 Racing Team’s Wang Rui won the victory of Super Cup, while his teammate Zhang Zhendong finished the 3rd. BAIC Racing Team’s Adam Morgan finished the 3rd. In China Cup, Dongfeng Fengshen Racing Team’s Li Huiwei converted the pole to victory. Zongheng Racing Team’s Wu Xiaofeng and Zhu Yuanjie finished the 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The TAG Heuer Speed Award went to SAIC Volkswagen 333 Racing Team’s Rodolfo Avila and Dongfeng Fengshen Racing Team’s Li Huiwei to reward the fastest lap-time they created of each category in the qualifying.

Super Cup: Wang Rui Led the Race

After last round in Shanghai, again, Wang Rui was invited by SAIC Volkswagen 333 Racing Team to join the battle. In the 17-lap race, Wang started from the 9th place and overpassed all the rivals ahead, finishing with a victory. Speaking of the competition, Wang said that he may not be as competitive as the drivers who participated all-year races, but apart from the luck, his commitment of fighting finally brought him the victory and helped leaving his name on the hall of fame of a new track. Meanwhile, thanks to the wonderful performance of Zhang Zhendong, SAIC Volkswagen won the Manufacturers’ Champion. After this round, Zhang widened the gap between him and the closest rival to more than 40 points on the standing. He will carry a big advantage into the second half of the season.

BAIC Racing Team’s Adam Morgan finished the 2nd. Dongfeng Yueda Kia Racing Team’s Zhang Zhiqiang and Changan Ford Racing Team’s Jim Ka To fought hard and finished 4th and 5th respectively. GAC Toyota Racing Team’s Deng Baowei successfully completed the race despite the failure of the gearbox.

China Cup: Li Huiwei Got All the Points

In China Cup, Dongfeng Fengshen Racing Team’s Li Huiwei got all the points a driver could get in a race weekend, making him become the first Chinese driver who has ever achieved this. Zongheng Racing Team’s Wu Xiaofeng and Zhu Yuanjie brought the Manufactures’ Champion for the team. At the same time, Wu Xiaofeng further expanded his leading on the standing.
